You are bright, but you often don't know what you want out of life. You find yourself sad, lonely, sometimes rageful, and often without love. You are not alone. I understand the desire for control, and to 'know what to do.' I understand the fear that nothing will change. But you can change, as many have, and I can help.

My work takes “what is there” in your history and “what is here” in the present to help you know yourself and change accordingly. I offer an open-minded and warm approach, where the growth comes both from our working together, and from your own courage.

FAQs About My Work

From your perspective, what is therapy?

I firmly believe that therapy offers a valuable opportunity for self-discovery and transformative support. My passion lies in assisting clients in exploring their personal history, challenging their thought patterns, and fostering curiosity and awareness about their needs and the strategies they employ to navigate their current circumstances. Additionally, I take great joy in empowering clients to unleash their creativity and make meaningful changes in the areas of their lives they wish to transform.

If we allow ourselves to indulge in a touch of romanticism, therapy can be seen as a professional and clinical service that guides individuals towards wisdom, freedom, and enduring love.

However, it's important to note that therapy differs from life coaching—I do not provide life coaching services.

Are there any philosophies or values that inform your work that I should know about?

As a therapist, I bring together a blend of psychoanalytic, existential, experiential, and humanistic therapy theories in my practice. My training encompasses a deep understanding of psychoanalysis and the transformative power of personal experiences. Through this integrative approach, I strive to provide a comprehensive and holistic therapeutic experience for my clients.

Have you received any particular training beyond your post-Bachelor's training?

After graduating from New York University with a Master of Social Work degree, I completed the Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at William Alanson White Institute. In 2018, I enrolled in the 6-year psychoanalytic fellowship program at Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy. I am currently a post-grad Clinical Fellow.

How much do you share about yourself during our time together and why?

I deeply value the power of sharing and maintaining an open dialogue in our therapeutic journey together. When something you say or an expression you convey touches me on a profound level, I will not hesitate to express that connection. Whether it's my bodily reactions, reflections on our similarities and differences, or immediate responses to your words, I believe in transparently sharing these experiences as they unfold between us.

In relational and experiential therapy, which comprises the foundation of my training, the way I experience our connection holds immense significance. It is a vital source of information that I utilize to guide our work together. I firmly believe that what transpires between us inside the therapy room often mirrors dynamics that exist beyond its confines. By sharing my experiences with you, I aim to help you gain insights into your patterns of thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors.

To illustrate, suppose you inquire about my political beliefs, years of therapy practice, or sexual orientation, even if they may not appear immediately relevant to our treatment. I will not dismiss these questions or brush them aside. Instead, I will pause and explore with you the underlying need behind your curiosity, the significance of asking such questions, and if appropriate, therapeutic, and relevant, I will not hesitate to disclose the information you seek. Naturally, I will encourage a discussion about your reactions to my self-disclosure and explore the meaning it holds for you.

Regarding concerns about whether I would make our therapy sessions solely about me, disregarding professional boundaries by delving into my personal life, rest assured that I am fully committed to maintaining a focused and respectful therapeutic environment. You won't find me reenacting the comedic portrayal of therapists sharing their life stories in our sessions. Our work together remains dedicated to your growth, exploration, and well-being.

What are your policies and practices around insurance?

Sessions are $250 and last 50 minutes. I accept Credit Card, Paypal, and Venmo.

I am not in network with any insurances; however, I am a qualified out-of-network behavioral health provider. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, then you are likely to receive reimbursement for a portion of treatment. To make the reimbursement process easier, I provide you with invoices to submit to your insurance carriers on a monthly basis. If you plan to seek reimbursement for treatment, please check with your insurance provider to inquire about the details of your out-of-network benefits and request pre-approval to seek my services prior to our first visit.
