What kind of therapy should I choose?

There are four major schools of psychotherapy: Psychodynamic, Cognitive and Behavioral, Humanistic/Experiential, and Systemic/Family Therapies, and over 400 (!) distinct types of psychotherapy in use today.

Your needs can and do change over time. You might benefit from insight-oriented psychodynamic therapy today, while tomorrow, viewing your challenges through the lens of relational or systemic patterns could offer more clarity and relief.

Rather than rigidly adhering to one method, I personally recommend working with a therapist who is knowledgeable, flexible, and attuned — someone who can draw from multiple approaches and offer a hybrid, holistic perspective tailored to your unique needs and where you are in your journey.
